Hinge Health alternatives are other digital musculoskeletal (MSK) care programs and online physical therapy services you can use for joint, muscle or back pain. Hinge Health is only available through a participating employer or health plan. Companies like Hinge Health, such as Sword Health, Omada, Vori Health and RecoveryOne, mostly work the same way. If you don’t have one of those benefits, you can book online physical therapy directly, for example with Resolve360, which offers live one-on-one video sessions with published prices and a free 30–45 minute video assessment.
This guide compares each option on five points: care model, how much contact you have with a clinician, who can access it, whether prices are published, and its main limitations. For a broader list of US online physical therapy services that isn’t focused on Hinge Health, see our comparison of online physical therapy services.
The biggest difference between these programs is how you get access. Hinge Health, Sword, Omada and RecoveryOne need an employer or health plan, Vori Health bills your insurance, and Resolve360 and Lin Health can be booked directly.
| Provider | Care Model | Clinician Involvement | Access | Published Pricing | Key Limitation |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hinge Health Reference | App-based exercise therapy | Dedicated PT by message and video; virtual orthopedic doctors | Employer or health plan only | No public price; covered by the organization | Not sold directly to individuals |
| Resolve360 | Live one-on-one video physical therapy | Every paid session is a live 30–50 minute video consultation | Direct booking; no employer or plan needed | $0 for a free 30–45 minute comprehensive video consultation; then $48 per session, $88 for 1 week and $258 for 4 weeks | Self-pay; therapist state licenses are not listed on its site |
| Sword Health | AI-guided app sessions | Doctor of Physical Therapy oversees the plan; messaging | Employer, health plan or union | No public direct price; most covered members pay $0, per Sword | Direct purchase not publicly confirmed |
| Omada Joint & Muscle Health | App with PT-led plan | Dedicated PT; first visit by video | Covering organization | No public pricing listed | Requires an eligible employer or plan |
| Vori Health | Physician-led virtual MSK clinic | Live video visits with physicians and PTs | Employer or health plan; billed to insurance | No public self-pay price; copay or deductible may apply | No Medicaid or workers’ compensation |
| RecoveryOne | Digital PT program | PT consultation by video or phone; health coach | Health-plan benefit | No public price; covered members pay no copay, per RecoveryOne | Requires an eligible plan |
| Lin Health | Chronic pain coaching program | Pain recovery coach with medical oversight | Insurance in some states; self-pay | Monthly plans available | Not physical therapy |
Hinge Health is a digital program for joint and muscle pain, pelvic floor symptoms, migraine, and balance and mobility. Members use an app for guided exercise therapy, with TrueMotion technology that tracks range of motion and gives real-time feedback. The program also includes Enso, an FDA-cleared wireless device, and Robin, a 24/7 virtual care assistant (Hinge Health).
Each member has a dedicated physical therapist who can be reached by secure message and video visits in the app. Members can also meet virtually with orthopedic doctors and get support from health coaches (Hinge Health care team). In June 2025, Hinge announced HingeSelect, a network of in-person physical therapists, imaging centers and physicians offered through employers and health plans (Hinge Health investor news)
.
Access is the main constraint. Hinge says you must be enrolled in a qualifying plan with one of its partners, the organization covers the cost, and “programs are not available for individual purchase” (Hinge Health help center; coverage FAQ).
You don’t have to wait for employer benefits. Resolve360 offers live, one-on-one virtual physical therapy for US patients, with transparent, out-of-pocket pricing and direct booking.
Start with a free video assessment
Speak one-on-one with a physiotherapist and discuss your recovery needs before choosing a paid plan.
Book Your Free 30–45 Minute Assessment →The right alternative depends on your eligibility, your condition, your budget and how you prefer to receive care.
If your employer or health plan doesn’t partner with Hinge Health, you can’t enroll. Some people who are eligible for Hinge are eligible for a different program instead, such as Sword or Omada, so check your benefits portal first.
Programs differ in how you work with a clinician. Some center on app-guided exercise with a therapist reviewing your progress. Others schedule live video sessions where a therapist watches you move and corrects your form in real time.
Employer and health-plan programs often cost members nothing, but most don’t publish a price and can’t be bought directly. Direct-pay services publish prices but are usually paid out of pocket.
Some people want a physician involved, a specific type of program such as pain coaching, or session times that fit a work schedule. Others need in-person, hands-on care that no virtual program can provide.
Overview. Resolve360 provides live, one-on-one online physical therapy that US patients can book directly, without an employer or health-plan benefit. Resolve360 reports that it has treated more than 50,000 patients worldwide and delivered more than 2 million sessions, and holds a 4.9 average rating. Instead of AI-guided app sessions, every paid visit is a scheduled video call with a physical therapist.
Services and care model. Care starts with a free video assessment and continues with live sessions, a personalized home exercise plan, access to the Resolve360 app, progress tracking and plan adjustments. Resolve360 says it treats more than 250 conditions, including musculoskeletal, neurological, orthopedic, post-surgical and women’s health conditions. Examples include sciatica, shoulder pain and rehab after knee replacement. Every patient gets a dedicated relationship manager for scheduling and continuous support between sessions. Resolve360 lists these booking steps:
What the free assessment covers. The first call is a 30–45 minute one-on-one video consultation. The session is 100% free with zero financial commitment. During this detailed evaluation, the therapist assesses your movement, works to identify what is causing your pain, and outlines a personalized recovery roadmap. You only decide on paid sessions if your condition actually requires them, and any later cost depends on the plan your therapist recommends for your condition.
Clinician involvement. You receive direct one-on-one care from Resolve360’s in-house physical therapy team. Resolve360 says its in-house panel includes 108+ physical therapists from India, the US and the UK, with 10 to 30+ years of clinical experience. During live video sessions, your therapist watches you move, corrects your technique and adjusts your plan in real time. Resolve360 says a paid session includes a condition assessment, review of any clinical reports you share, a treatment roadmap, a personalized exercise plan, progress tracking and follow-up support.
Data security and privacy. Resolve360 states that its platform is HIPAA-compliant and GDPR-compliant and holds ISO/IEC 27001 (information security) and ISO 9001 (quality management) certifications. Read its privacy policy to see how session recordings and health records are stored and used.
Eligibility and access. Direct booking, with no employer, health plan or eligibility check. Resolve360 states that it serves patients in all 50 US states. Its site lists offices in San Francisco and Bengaluru, India.
Pricing and payment. As listed on Resolve360’s US service page on October 10, 2026:
| Option | Price | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| Free assessment | $0 | One 30–45 minute one-on-one video consultation, with no commitment |
| One-to-one live consultation | $48 per session | One 30–50 minute live session, exercise plan, progress tracking and follow-up support |
| 1-week plan | $88 | One 30–50 minute video consultation, a 1-week exercise plan, app access and plan adjustments |
| 4-week plan | $258 | Four 30–50 minute video consultations, a 4-week exercise plan, app access and weekly progress reviews |
Resolve360 says insurance coverage and HSA or FSA eligibility depend on your plan, so check with your insurer or plan administrator before paying.
Potential advantages. No employer or plan required; prices are published up front; every paid session is live with an experienced therapist; a free assessment before you commit; a dedicated relationship manager; stated HIPAA and ISO/IEC 27001 data protections.
Limitations. You pay out of pocket unless your own plan reimburses you. Video care cannot replace hands-on, in-person treatment for some injuries and conditions.
Best suited for: people without a Hinge-type benefit who want live, one-on-one sessions and a known price before they start.
May not suit: people who need their care billed directly to insurance, need hands-on treatment, or have symptoms that need urgent or in-person medical care.
To compare the plans and book a free assessment, visit Resolve360’s online physical therapy service for US patients.
Overview. Sword Health offers Thrive for physical pain, along with programs for women’s health (Bloom), mental health (Mind) and cardiometabolic health (Pulse).
Services and care model. Members do exercise sessions in the Sword app. Phoenix, Sword’s AI, gives form cues, and Vision AI uses your phone or tablet camera to track movement.
Clinician involvement. Thrive members are matched with a Pain Care Specialist who holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. The specialist builds the plan, reviews session data and adjusts exercises, and members can message them in the app.
Eligibility and access. Through employers, health plans and unions. Sword says it “may be offered at no cost through your employer or health plan,” with an online eligibility check.
Pricing and payment. No public price. Sword says most covered members pay $0. Direct purchase without a covering organization is not publicly confirmed.
Kaia Health. Sword acquired Kaia Health on January 28, 2026, and is moving Kaia’s US musculoskeletal members to Sword’s platform. For that reason, Kaia is not listed separately here.
Potential advantages. Often no cost to covered members; frequent guided sessions with movement feedback.
Limitations. Requires eligibility; day-to-day sessions are AI-guided rather than live with a therapist.
Best suited for: people whose employer or plan offers Sword and who are comfortable with app-guided exercise.
Overview. Omada, known for chronic-condition programs, offers a musculoskeletal program through employers and health plans.
Services and care model. Members get a personalized plan with exercise videos and tools in the Omada app, virtual range-of-motion tracking, and an exercise kit shipped at no extra cost.
Clinician involvement. Members are matched with a dedicated licensed physical therapist. The first visit is a video session, and Omada says appointments are available as early as 24 hours after enrollment.
Eligibility and access. You must be covered by a participating organization; Omada provides an eligibility check. Members without a relevant condition may get a preventive version without a PT.
Pricing and payment. No public price or member cost is stated.
Potential advantages. Named PT, video first visit and a home exercise kit.
Limitations. Requires eligibility; not available for direct purchase as far as Omada’s site shows.
Best suited for: people whose benefits include Omada and who want a dedicated PT alongside an app.
Overview. Vori Health describes itself as a physician-led medical practice for musculoskeletal care, available in all 50 states.
Services and care model. Board-certified physicians guide diagnosis and treatment planning. The team also includes physical therapists, exercise physiologists, registered dietitians and health coaches, plus AI-powered motion tracking for home exercise.
Clinician involvement. Live virtual visits with a dedicated care team, plus follow-ups and messaging.
Eligibility and access. Available through employers and health plans. Vori bills insurance and does not accept Medicaid, workers’ compensation or third-party liability.
Pricing and payment. No public price. You may owe a copay, coinsurance or deductible, so check your benefits first. Self-pay is not mentioned on Vori’s billing page.
Potential advantages. Physician involvement, including evaluation and diagnosis, together with physical therapy.
Limitations. Out-of-pocket cost depends on your insurance; not available through Medicaid.
Best suited for: people who want a physician and a PT on the same virtual team and whose insurance or employer covers Vori.
Overview. RecoveryOne is a digital physical therapy program, now owned by TailorCare, which announced the acquisition in December 2024.
Services and care model. An evidence-based exercise therapy program that adapts to your progress, with health coach support.
Clinician involvement. A licensed physical therapist assesses you in an initial video visit or phone call, builds your program and gives ongoing guidance.
Eligibility and access. Offered as a health-plan benefit, with an online eligibility checker.
Pricing and payment. RecoveryOne says covered members pay no copays, deductibles or added fees. No self-pay option is listed.
Potential advantages. No cost to covered members; PT-designed program.
Limitations. Only for members of participating plans.
Best suited for: people whose health plan includes RecoveryOne.
Overview. Lin Health runs an online program for chronic pain. It is not physical therapy.
Services and care model. Lin’s approach treats pain as something the brain and nervous system can create or amplify. It combines one-on-one coaching, digital learning and app-based care kits.
Clinician involvement. Each patient works with a dedicated pain recovery coach, with multidisciplinary guidance and a medical advisor. The program is not built around a physical therapist assessing your movement.
Eligibility and access. Lin says it is in-network with some insurance plans in certain states and offers self-pay plans. The states listed differ between Lin’s own pages, so confirm coverage directly.
Pricing and payment. Lin’s pricing page listed monthly plans from $82 to $269 on October 10, 2026, depending on plan length and promotions, and says self-pay plans are HSA/FSA eligible.
Potential advantages. Direct access with published prices; designed for long-term pain rather than a specific injury.
Limitations. Not physical therapy, so it does not provide a movement assessment or exercise rehab from a PT.
Best suited for: adults with long-lasting pain who want a coaching-based program, ideally after a clinician has ruled out conditions that need medical treatment.

The two services work differently, so this guide does not name an overall winner. If you’d like to try live sessions, you can book a free assessment with Resolve360 and decide afterward.
Online physical therapy can cost $0 if you’re eligible for an employer-sponsored program, $48 per session with Resolve360’s published direct-pay price, and about $75 to $150 per session for typical US self-pay physical therapy (GoodRx Health, 2023). Your final cost depends on your insurance, your health plan’s benefits and whether you choose a multi-session plan.
Cost depends mostly on how you get access:
An employer program that costs you nothing is usually the cheapest option if you qualify. If you don’t, compare the full cost of a course of care, not only the first visit, and ask whether a plan includes extras such as app access or progress reviews. Out-of-pocket costs vary with your benefits, plan rules and how many sessions you need. For typical US cash prices and ways to lower them, see our guide to physical therapy cost without insurance.
In one-on-one online physical therapy, you meet a therapist on a scheduled video call, and they watch your movement and coach you in real time. In app-based programs, you do guided sessions on your own, often with motion tracking, while a clinician reviews your data and messages you. Many programs combine both. Live sessions suit people who want real-time correction; app programs suit people who want frequent, flexible practice. Learn what happens during a live online physical therapy visit.
The right Hinge Health alternative depends on three things: whether your employer or health plan already covers a program, whether you want live one-on-one sessions or app-guided exercise, and whether you need physical therapy or support for long-lasting pain. Then confirm licensing, cost and privacy before you enroll.
Start with three questions:
Then check these before you enroll:
Get urgent medical care, not an online program, if you have new weakness or numbness in a limb, numbness in the groin or inner thighs, new loss of bladder or bowel control, chest pain, a suspected broken bone, or sudden severe pain. In an emergency, call 911.
It depends on your access. If your employer or plan offers one, Sword Health, Omada, Vori Health or RecoveryOne may be available. If not, direct-pay options include Resolve360 for live video physical therapy and Lin Health for chronic pain coaching.
Sword Health and Omada are the closest: both are digital musculoskeletal programs offered through employers and health plans, combining an app with physical therapist support. Kaia Health was similar but is now part of Sword.
Both are employer and health-plan programs. Hinge pairs app exercise with a PT reachable by message and video, plus doctors and coaches. Sword’s Thrive uses AI-guided sessions with phone-camera tracking, overseen by a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
No. Hinge Health says you must be enrolled through a participating employer or health plan, and its programs are not available for individual purchase.
Yes. You can book a direct-pay service such as Resolve360, which starts with a free assessment and needs no eligibility check. You can also ask your health insurer about in-network telehealth physical therapy.
Employer and plan programs usually cost eligible members little or nothing but don’t publish prices. Resolve360 lists a free assessment and $48 sessions. Lin Health lists monthly plans. Insurance-billed care depends on your copay and deductible.
Yes. One-on-one sessions are scheduled live video calls where a therapist watches and corrects you. App-based programs guide you through sessions on your own, with a clinician reviewing progress and messaging you.
It is a free 30–45 minute one-on-one video consultation. The therapist evaluates your movement and concern, then suggests a recovery roadmap based on your condition. You choose whether to book paid sessions afterward.
If you don’t have Hinge Health or a similar benefit, you don’t have to wait for one. Resolve360 offers live, one-on-one online physical therapy for US patients, with prices published up front.

I came across a Resolve360 ad and decided to give them a try for my knee pain. I contacted them, and their team got in touch with me and explained everything clearly. I had my online physiotherapy session with Dr. Sandeep, and I had a really good experience. He was patient, friendly, and took the time to understand my pain and daily routine before suggesting exercises. He explained each exercise properly and showed me how to do the movements correctly. I could also ask questions during the session, which made things much easier. I really liked the convenience of doing the sessions from home. I didn’t have to travel to a clinic, and the one-on-one sessions felt personal and comfortable. The follow-up sessions were also helpful and kept me motivated to stay consistent with the exercises. A special thanks to Dr. Sandeep for being so supportive and easy to talk to. He made the whole process feel simple and comfortable. Overall, I’m happy with my experience with Resolve360 and would recommend them to anyone looking for convenient online physiotherapy.Posted on Google![]()

I am currently recovering from ACL reconstruction surgery, and choosing the Resolve360 video rehabilitation platform has been one of the best decisions for my recovery journey. When I joined the platform, I was not only recovering from surgery but was also suffering from severe back pain that significantly limited my mobility. Surprisingly, after just two sessions, I experienced noticeable relief in my back pain, which gave me the confidence to continue my rehabilitation. What I appreciate the most is that every exercise is carefully tailored to my specific condition, recovery stage, and individual needs. The structured rehabilitation plan has kept me consistent and motivated. Without this platform, I don't think I would have had such a well-organized approach to my recovery. A special thanks to Dr. Diksha for her exceptional expertise. She has an incredible ability to understand the root cause of pain and provide effective solutions, even through remote consultations. Beyond her clinical skills, she is incredibly empathetic, patient, and motivating. She genuinely listens, understands what you're going through, and encourages you throughout the recovery process, making even the most challenging phases feel manageable. Her guidance and positive attitude have been invaluable to my recovery. I would also like to appreciate my Care Manager, Ms. Aditi, for her outstanding support. She is extremely proactive and dedicated to ensuring everything runs smoothly. Whether it's reminding me to schedule my diet consultation or reassessment sessions, handling last-minute rescheduling, or assisting with payments, she manages every aspect effortlessly. She is always responsive and just a chat away whenever I need help. I highly recommend Resolve360 to anyone looking for a personalized, structured, and professionally managed rehabilitation program. The combination of expert physiotherapy and exceptional customer support has made my recovery journey much smoother and more reassuring.Posted on Google![]()

The Only Solution That Found My Root Cause and Delivered Real Recovery For years, I was trapped in a frustrating cycle, suffering from debilitating back pain and a persistent knee injury. I had seen countless specialists—various physiotherapists and chiropractors—but none of them could provide lasting relief or truly get to the heart of my problems. I was ready to give up. Thankfully, Dr. Apoorva and Dr. Asish insisted I join Resolve 360 for a fresh start on my recovery journey, and it was the best decision I could have made. The true breakthrough came from Dr. David. His diagnostic skill is exceptional; during our dedicated one-on-one video call sessions, he was able to accurately find and address the root cause of both my back pain and knee instability. For the first time, I felt like I wasn't just treating symptoms, but actually correcting the underlying issues. The progress has been incredible. My initial back and knee pain are vastly improved, and Resolve 360 continues to help me, focusing now on making my muscles strong to ensure long-term stability and health. The one-on-one format is the key—it ensures I receive personalized attention, correct technique, and real-time adjustments tailored only to me. If you have tried multiple avenues without success, I highly recommend Resolve 360. Their expert team, especially Dr. David, Dr. Apoorva, and Dr. Asish, offers a level of insight and dedicated care that truly resolves problems. This service is a game-changer!Posted on Google![]()

I am suffering from heel pain for the last few years and the physiotherapy sessions provided by resolve360 have helped me a lot. The best thing about resolve360 is the flexibility they offer. I had sessions both early in the morning and evening depending upon my schedule. All the doctors on their panel are excellent and are always willing to go extra mile and give more than 100%. They do not prescribe any short cuts and focus on resolving the problem from the root cause instead of promising you any magic pill. I will recommend everyone to give it a try if they are facing any issues related to pain or mobility and is in need of physiotherapy.Posted on Google![]()
