What Is Physical Therapy for Knee Arthritis?

Physical therapy for knee arthritis is a clinically proven, non-surgical treatment that uses targeted exercises, manual therapy, and movement correction to reduce pain, restore joint mobility, and strengthen the muscles surrounding the knee. It is the #1 recommended first-line treatment for knee osteoarthritis (OA) by the American College of Rheumatology, the Arthritis Foundation, and the AAOS — and is covered by Medicare and most US insurance plans.

A structured knee osteoarthritis physical therapy program typically includes 3 phases over 8–12 weeks: Phase 1 (pain control and muscle activation), Phase 2 (progressive strength and range of motion), and Phase 3 (functional return and long-term maintenance). Studies show that up to 50% of patients scheduled for knee replacement surgery can delay or avoid it entirely with consistent, expert-guided physiotherapy. At Resolve360, all sessions are delivered live 1-on-1 online by UK-trained physiotherapists — with the first consultation completely free.

What Is Physical Therapy for Knee Osteoarthritis — and Why Does It Work?

Physical therapy for knee arthritis is a structured, clinically supervised medical treatment. It is not a generic set of exercises. It is a personalized program built around your specific condition, pain levels, age, fitness, and daily goals — designed and progressed by a licensed physiotherapist every step of the way.

When knee cartilage wears down in osteoarthritis, the muscles around your knee become your most powerful line of defense. Strong quadriceps, hamstrings, calf muscles, and hip abductors act as natural shock absorbers — reducing the load passing through the damaged joint by up to 30–40%. That’s not a minor benefit. That’s the difference between walking comfortably and limping through the day.

Beyond muscle strength, knee osteoarthritis physical therapy addresses joint mobility, balance, movement mechanics, and pain neuroscience. It teaches your nervous system to move more efficiently, reduces inflammation-driven pain through graded activity, and gives you a long-term toolbox to manage your condition without relying on daily medication or rushing toward surgery.

Studies published in the New England Journal of Medicine, Annals of Internal Medicine, and the British Medical Journal consistently show that exercise-based physical therapy produces outcomes equal to — and often better than — surgery for knee osteoarthritis, with none of the surgical risks, recovery time, or cost.

  • Reduces Dependency on Painkillers: Targeted therapy addresses the cause, not just the symptom — many patients significantly reduce or eliminate NSAID use

  • Restores Functional Movement: Stairs, walking, standing from chairs, and daily activities all improve with the right program
  • Delays or Prevents Surgery: Up to 50% of patients scheduled for knee replacement can avoid surgery with proper PT
  • Teaches Long-Term Self-Management: You learn to understand your condition and manage it independently for life
  • Now Accessible From Home: Telerehabilitation with Resolve360 means expert care without travel, waiting rooms, or disruption to your schedule
💪 Therapeutic Strengthening
Progressive loading of quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, and hip muscles. The goal: make the muscles around your knee so strong they absorb the impact your cartilage can no longer handle.
🔄 Joint Mobilization & Range of Motion
Guided stretching and passive-to-active range work to reduce morning stiffness, improve full knee bending and straightening, and keep your joint from becoming permanently restricted.
⚖️ Balance & Proprioceptive Training
Knee OA disrupts the neural feedback loop between your knee and brain. Balance drills retrain this system, stabilize your joint, and dramatically reduce your risk of falls and re-injury.
🚶 Gait & Movement Pattern Correction
Most knee pain patients develop compensatory walking patterns that further overload the joint. Your therapist analyzes and corrects how you walk, stand, and perform daily activities.
🩺 Manual Therapy + Pain Neuroscience Education
Hands-on joint mobilization techniques performed by your physiotherapist directly reduce stiffness and pain. Paired with evidence-based pain education, patients not only move better — they understand why, and they stay better long-term.

Understanding Knee OA: What's Actually Happening Inside Your Joint

Knee osteoarthritis is not inevitable — but certain factors significantly increase your risk. Understanding yours helps you take action sooner, when treatment is most effective.

🦴
In knee osteoarthritis, the articular cartilage between the femur and tibia progressively wears down — narrowing joint space, causing friction, inflammation, and chronic pain.
I
Mild OA — Minor wear, slight stiffness
II
Moderate — Pain with activity, morning stiffness
III
Severe — Significant pain, joint space narrowing
IV
End-Stage — Bone on bone, severe functional loss
Physical therapy is effective across all grades — even Grade IV patients can gain significant relief.

Who Is Most at Risk for Knee Arthritis in the USA?

Knee osteoarthritis is not inevitable — but certain factors significantly increase your risk. Understanding yours helps you take action sooner, when treatment is most effective.

Age Over 50: Risk increases significantly after 50. Over 60% of adults over 65 have some degree of knee OA

Overweight / Obese: Each extra pound adds 4 lbs of force to the knee joint. BMI over 30 triples OA risk

Previous Knee Injury: ACL tear, meniscus damage, or fracture increases lifetime OA risk by 400–600%

Family History: Genetics account for 40–65% of OA cases. If a parent had knee OA, your risk is significantly elevated

Female Sex: Women are 2x more likely to develop knee OA than men, especially after menopause

Physically Demanding Job: Jobs requiring kneeling, squatting, heavy lifting, or repetitive loading increase OA risk 2–3x
⚠ Early Warning Signs to Never Ignore: Pain or stiffness in the knee that lasts more than 2 weeks, a grinding/crunching sensation when moving the knee, swelling after activity, difficulty fully straightening or bending the knee, or pain that wakes you from sleep. If you experience any of these, it’s time to act — not wait.

Signs You Need Physical Therapy for Knee Arthritis Right Now

Many people dismiss knee pain as “just part of getting older.” But early, targeted physical therapy for knee osteoarthritis produces dramatically better outcomes than waiting. Don’t ignore these signs:

Morning Stiffness Lasting More Than 15–30 Minutes
A hallmark of knee OA — the joint needs prolonged movement to loosen up.
Pain When Climbing Stairs or Rising from a Chair
Quadriceps weakness is the primary culprit. Targeted strengthening helps faster than painkillers.
A Grinding, Crunching, or Clicking Sensation
Called crepitus — the sound of roughened cartilage surfaces moving.
Knee Swelling After Walking or Physical Activity
Indicates active joint inflammation. PT uses activity modification and graded exercise.
Avoiding Activities You Used to Enjoy
Cutting out walks, sports, or travel due to pain speeds up joint decline.
You’ll Know PT Is Working When…
Morning stiffness eases faster, stairs feel manageable, walking improves, and you sleep pain-free.
Don't wait until the pain becomes unbearable
The earlier you start physical therapy, the faster your recovery and the lower your long-term risk of surgery. Most patients see meaningful improvement within 3–4 weeks.

How Knee Arthritis Progresses Without Treatment
Year 1–2: Mild stiffness, occasional pain — reversible with early PT.
Year 3–5: Muscle weakness develops, pain more frequent.
Year 5+: Significant joint space loss, possible surgical candidacy.
With PT: Progression slowed dramatically, pain managed, function maintained.

Evidence-Based Exercises in Your Knee Arthritis PT Program

Every exercise below is grounded in clinical research and prescribed by Resolve360 physiotherapists as part of a structured knee osteoarthritis physical therapy program. Dosage is always individualized — never generic.

Why These Specific Exercises?

Every exercise in a knee arthritis PT program is chosen for a specific physiological reason. Quadriceps strengthening reduces tibiofemoral joint contact force. Hip abductor work corrects knee valgus collapse under load. Proprioceptive training restores the joint position sense lost with OA-related cartilage damage. Nothing is random.

The common mistake people make when exercising with knee arthritis is choosing exercises that feel easier — like resting, avoiding weight-bearing, or only doing lying-down movements. While those have a role in Phase 1, long-term recovery requires progressive loading. The joint needs controlled stress to stimulate bone remodeling, muscle growth, and joint fluid circulation. Your physiotherapist knows exactly how much stress — and when to progress.

Important: The exercises listed here are prescriptions for a starting program only. Your Resolve360 physiotherapist will build, modify, and progress your program based on weekly reassessment of your pain, strength, and function.

The 3 Categories of Knee OA Exercises

Strengthening Exercises

Build muscle armor around the knee. Targets quads, hamstrings, glutes, hip abductors, and calf complex. Progress from isometric to isotonic to loaded functional.

Flexibility & Mobility Work

Reduce stiffness, restore full range of motion, prevent contracture. Includes joint mobilization, stretching, and soft tissue techniques performed by your therapist.

Aerobic & Proprioceptive Training

Low-impact cardio for systemic health and joint lubrication. Balance drills to restore neural feedback and protect the joint from unexpected loads and falls.

Exercise Target Muscles Primary Benefit for Knee OA Difficulty Starting Dose PT Phase
Quad Sets (Isometric) Quadriceps Reactivates quads with zero joint compression — safe even in acute pain Beginner 3×10, hold 5s Phase 1–2
Straight Leg Raises Quad, Hip Flexor Builds quad strength without knee bending or joint loading Beginner 3×12 each Phase 1–2
Heel Slides Hamstrings, Knee Flexors Improves knee flexion range in a pain-free manner Beginner 3×12 Phase 1–2
Clamshells Hip Abductors (Glute Med) Corrects knee valgus collapse — major OA load amplifier Beginner 3×15 each side Phase 1–2
Terminal Knee Extension VMO (Inner Quad) Strengthens last 30° of knee extension — often weakest arc Intermediate 3×15 Phase 2
Short Arc Quads Quadriceps (Distal) Controlled quad loading through limited range Intermediate 3×12 Phase 2
Mini Squats (0–45°) Quads, Glutes, Hamstrings Functional loading with minimal OA joint stress Intermediate 3×12–15 Phase 2
Step-Ups (Low Step) Quads, Glutes, Balance Trains stair-climbing movement pattern Intermediate 3×10 each Phase 2–3
Lateral Band Walks Hip Abductors (Glute Med) Develops lateral hip stability — reduces knee load Intermediate 3×15 steps Phase 2–3
Single-Leg Stance Full Lower Limb, Vestibular Retrains proprioceptive feedback lost in OA Intermediate 3×30s each Phase 2–3
Stationary Cycling Quads, Hamstrings, Cardio Low-impact aerobic conditioning — improves circulation Beginner 15–30 min/day All Phases
Wall Sit (Partial) Quads, Glutes Builds endurance strength for walking & standing Intermediate 3×20–30s Phase 2–3
Romanian Deadlift (Bodyweight) Hamstrings, Glutes, Back Reduces anterior knee forces during movement Advanced 3×12 Phase 3
Aquatic Therapy (Pool) Full Lower Limb Water buoyancy reduces joint load by 50–75% Beginner 20–30 min sessions Phase 1–2
Clinical Note from Resolve360: Dosage shown above is a general starting guideline. Your Resolve360 physiotherapist will assess your pain level (0–10 VAS scale), range of motion, and functional capacity before prescribing your specific exercise program. Programs are reassessed and progressed every 2 weeks based on your response to treatment.

The 3 Phases of Your Knee Arthritis PT Program

Phase 1: Pain Control, Inflammation Management & Muscle Activation (Weeks 1–3)

The first phase is about calming the knee enough to begin real strengthening work. Acute inflammation makes meaningful loading impossible — so we reduce irritation first.

Your physiotherapist guides you through ice/heat strategies, activity modification, and begins gentle isometric quad activation exercises. Manual therapy reduces stiffness and restores confidence in movement.

✔ Reduce acute pain to manageable level (≤4/10) ✔ Restore quad activation ✔ Reduce morning stiffness ✔ Begin gentle ROM improvements ✔ Build confidence in safe movement

What the Research Says About PT for Knee Osteoarthritis

Resolve360’s approach to physical therapy for knee arthritis is not based on tradition or assumption — it is grounded in decades of published clinical research from leading journals and institutions.

PT as Effective as Surgery for Knee OA

A landmark study found that structured physical therapy produced outcomes equivalent to arthroscopic surgery for knee OA — with none of the surgical risks, recovery time, or cost. The therapy group showed equal pain relief and function improvement at 2-year follow-up.

New England Journal of Medicine · Level I Evidence  [NEJM →]

Quad Strength is the #1 Modifiable Factor

Research from the Osteoarthritis Research Society consistently shows that quadriceps strength is the strongest modifiable predictor of knee OA pain and function. Every 10% increase in quad strength correlates with measurable pain reduction.

Osteoarthritis & Cartilage Journal · Multiple RCTs  [OARSI →]

Telerehabilitation Equals In-Person PT

Multiple randomized controlled trials confirm that online physiotherapy (telerehabilitation) for knee OA produces outcomes statistically equivalent to clinic-based care — including equivalent pain reduction, range of motion improvement, and patient satisfaction scores.

Weight Loss Amplifies PT Results Significantly

Combined PT and weight loss programs produce 50% more pain relief than exercise alone in overweight knee OA patients. The IDEA Trial demonstrated that each pound lost removes 4 pounds of knee joint stress with every step.

5 Dangerous Myths About Knee Arthritis — Corrected

✘ Myth: "Rest is the best treatment for knee arthritis"
✔ Prolonged rest weakens the muscles that support your knee, increases stiffness, and worsens OA long-term. Controlled movement and graded exercise are among the most effective treatments available.
✘ Myth: "Exercising will wear out my knee faster"
✔ Low-to-moderate impact exercise does not accelerate cartilage loss. In fact, movement stimulates synovial fluid production that nourishes cartilage. The right type of exercise matters — not avoidance.
✘ Myth: "Surgery is the only real solution for severe OA"
✔ Studies show up to 50% of patients recommended for knee replacement who complete structured PT first either delay or avoid surgery entirely. Conservative care should always be attempted before surgical options.
✘ Myth: "Knee arthritis only affects older people"
✔ Post-traumatic arthritis can develop in people in their 30s after knee injury. Obesity, genetics, and physically demanding work can also contribute — regardless of age.
✘ Myth: "Online PT can't replace seeing a real therapist"
✔ Clinical research confirms tele-rehabilitation produces equivalent outcomes to in-person care for knee OA. Live 1-on-1 sessions with real-time correction replicate the clinic experience effectively.

Osteoarthritis Knee Treatment: The Complete Lifestyle Approach

Physical therapy works best as part of a comprehensive approach to osteoarthritis knee treatment. These evidence-backed lifestyle factors multiply your results dramatically when combined with your Resolve360 PT program.

Weight Management

This is the single most impactful non-exercise intervention for knee OA. Every pound of body weight equals approximately 4 pounds of force on your knee joint while walking. Losing just 10 lbs removes 40 lbs of force with every step — dramatically reducing pain and slowing cartilage breakdown.

→ Resolve360 can connect you with a certified nutritionist as part of your integrated care plan.

Aquatic Activity & Low-Impact Exercise

Swimming, water aerobics, and aqua walking are exceptional for knee OA — water buoyancy reduces joint load by 50–75% while still allowing meaningful muscle strengthening and cardiovascular work. Outside the pool: walking on flat surfaces, stationary cycling, and elliptical training are ideal.

→ Your PT will prescribe specific aerobic activity targets as part of your program.

Heat & Cold Therapy Protocols

Applied correctly, thermal therapy is a powerful pain management tool. Cold (ice pack 15–20 min) reduces acute inflammation and post-exercise pain. Heat (warm compress, warm bath) before activity loosens stiff joints. Your physiotherapist will prescribe specific protocols based on your stage and symptoms.

Sleep & Recovery Optimization

Poor sleep amplifies pain sensitivity and impairs muscle recovery — both critical issues in knee OA management. Research shows people with poor sleep experience 30–50% higher pain intensity from the same OA damage. Optimizing sleep hygiene directly improves therapy outcomes.

Footwear & Orthotics

The wrong footwear can worsen knee OA by changing ground reaction forces up the kinetic chain. Properly fitted shoes with adequate cushioning and lateral support, combined with custom or over-the-counter orthotic insoles when appropriate, can reduce knee joint load by 5–10% with every step.

Stress & Mental Health Management

Chronic psychological stress increases inflammation through elevated cortisol and cytokine levels — directly worsening joint pain. Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) has demonstrated measurable pain reduction in OA patients independent of physical therapy. Resolve360 connects you with mental health support when needed.

Anti-Inflammatory Nutrition for Knee Arthritis
Diet does not cure knee arthritis — but an anti-inflammatory dietary pattern consistently reduces joint pain markers and supports the healing processes that physical therapy depends on.
✔ Beneficial Foods to Prioritize
  • ✔ Fatty fish (salmon, mackerel, sardines) — omega-3 anti-inflammatory
  • ✔ Turmeric / curcumin — strongest natural anti-inflammatory studied
  • ✔ Ginger — reduces IL-6 and TNF-α markers
  • ✔ Berries (blueberries, strawberries) — antioxidants
  • ✔ Leafy greens (spinach, kale) — vitamin K & phytonutrients
  • ✔ Avocado — healthy unsaturated fats
  • ✔ Walnuts — plant-based omega-3 (ALA)
  • ✔ Extra-virgin olive oil — oleocanthal properties
  • ✔ Broccoli — sulforaphane (emerging research)
✘ Foods That Worsen Inflammation
  • ✘ Ultra-processed foods — trans fats & additives
  • ✘ Refined sugars & high-fructose corn syrup
  • ✘ Red & processed meats in excess
  • ✘ Refined carbs (white bread, white rice)
  • ✘ Omega-6 heavy vegetable oils (corn, sunflower)
  • ✘ Alcohol — increases inflammatory markers
  • ✘ Excess sodium — promotes fluid retention
  • ✘ Fried foods — advanced glycation products (AGEs)
  • ✘ Artificial sweeteners — emerging gut inflammation links

Most Resolve360 patients report a noticeable reduction in pain and improvement in morning stiffness within the first 3–4 weeks of consistent treatment. Meaningful functional gains — better stair climbing, improved walking tolerance, reduced reliance on pain medication — typically develop within 4–8 weeks. Full functional recovery and strength normalization usually takes 8–12 weeks. The single most important factor in speed of recovery is consistency with both your live sessions and your prescribed home exercises.

Yes — physical therapy for knee osteoarthritis is a medically recognized treatment and is covered by most major US insurance plans including Medicare Part B, Medicaid, and most commercial plans (Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, BlueCross BlueShield, Humana) when prescribed by a physician. Your exact coverage, copay, and number of covered sessions will depend on your specific plan. At Resolve360, our team can help you navigate insurance questions at the time of booking. Your first consultation is always free regardless of insurance status.

For many patients — particularly those with mild to moderate knee OA — yes. Multiple high-quality studies show that structured, progressive physical therapy produces equivalent pain relief and functional outcomes to surgery, including total knee arthroplasty, without any of the surgical risks, 6–12 month recovery, or $30,000–50,000 cost. The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons recommends exhausting conservative treatments including PT before pursuing surgery. That said, in cases of severe end-stage OA with significant structural joint failure and failed conservative treatment, surgery remains appropriate. Your Resolve360 physiotherapist will give you an honest, evidence-based assessment of whether PT alone is sufficient for your specific case.

This is one of the most common fears — and one of the most persistent myths in knee arthritis management. The research is clear: appropriate, graded exercise does not accelerate cartilage loss in knee OA. In fact, movement stimulates synovial fluid production that nourishes cartilage, promotes anti-inflammatory cytokines, and improves bone density around the joint. What’s harmful is the wrong type of exercise (high-impact running on hard surfaces, heavy loaded squatting in Grade III–IV OA), or exercise progressed too aggressively. That’s exactly why a physiotherapist-guided program is so important — they know the difference, and they know how to progress you safely.

“Knee arthritis” is a broad umbrella term covering any type of joint inflammation in the knee — including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, post-traumatic arthritis, and others. “Knee osteoarthritis” (OA) is the most common specific type, characterized by progressive wear-and-tear degeneration of articular cartilage. It accounts for approximately 90% of all knee arthritis cases in the USA. Physical therapy is highly effective for both — though the specific program approach differs based on type and stage. Rheumatoid arthritis programs, for example, need to be coordinated with your rheumatologist’s medication management plan.

No special equipment is required for your initial sessions — just a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a working camera and stable internet, and enough floor space to move comfortably (approximately a yoga mat-sized area). As you progress into Phase 2, your physiotherapist may recommend a simple resistance band (typically $8–15 on Amazon) to advance your strengthening exercises. No machines, no gym equipment, no clinic visits are required at any stage of your Resolve360 program.

Yes — and the research confirms it. Multiple randomized controlled trials published in peer-reviewed journals (BMJ Open, Journal of Telemedicine and Telecare, Physical Therapy) confirm that telerehabilitation for knee OA and other musculoskeletal conditions produces outcomes statistically equivalent to in-person care. Resolve360’s patented assessment technology and live 1-on-1 video sessions allow your physiotherapist to observe your movement quality in real time, correct your form instantly, monitor your pain response, and progress your program with the same clinical precision as face-to-face treatment. The added advantages: no travel time, flexible scheduling, no waiting rooms, and no exposure risk — making it easier to stay consistent, which is the #1 driver of outcomes.

Your first consultation is completely free — no cost, no credit card required, no obligation. If your physiotherapist determines you need a structured treatment program, the ongoing session fees will be explained to you clearly and transparently after your first session. Resolve360 is designed to be significantly more affordable than in-person clinic physiotherapy in the USA (where out-of-pocket costs can reach $75–200+ per session), while delivering equivalent or better clinical quality. Insurance coverage may apply — our team will guide you through this at the time of booking.

Resolve360 is great platform for online physiotherapy.
I was suffering from scapula dyskinesia and had lot of pain in right shoulder movement. I was introduced to Resolve 360 by my oncologist.

Within a month (26 sessions) there was a considerable improvement. Sessions are very cost-effective and doctors are very kind and efficient.
Doctor David has been really great and helpful. I would highly recommend Resolve 360.

Best therapy sessions that too at home and timings are very flexible. I had a issue in my neck and lower back since almost 4 to 5 years, taken so many treatments and physio sessions. But all gave a temporary relief. Then my friend referred me this Resolve 360 in 2020, in starting i was hesitant as everything was online, but after taking almost 10 sessions i got much relief, and now i am almost free of pain. Thanks to the team of Resolve 360.

By the advice of my gynaecologist, I found this place. I thank doctor Apporva for supported me and encouraged me well even before my sessions begin. Doctor Prerna who dealt me personally in my workout sessions also led me nicely according to my health condition. After every session she will ask my feedback of previous sessions. Accordingly she changed the workouts and made the class enjoyable. Much helpful. So interactive and friendly. They understood my health condition and cope with that nicely. Not straining me rather made me to enjoy. I did course for 1 month only for my tummy after C section. Lots of improvements. If I continue furthur, I would have seen a lot more. Given health advices, diet chart also along with workouts. I highly recommend.

Let the year 2021 bring laughter, joy and happiness and good health. It already has, in mine and my husband Narayans life. Yes we are now freely moving around doing our daily chores, on our own, with full energy. The credit goes to Dr.Apoorva who has magical fingers. We were in pain at the outset of covid. we were doing all our work with no help. The result… Back pain😈. Dr.Apoorva was kind enough to treat us immediately, following with caution all covid safety procedures. 🙏☺️ There was instant relief and in a weeks time we were ready for work. We were adviced physiotherapy. Dr.Prerna and Dr.David were mine and Narayanan’s instructors respectively. We were fortunate to have such dedicated professionals. They taught us with Patience answering to all our queries and methodically helped us to do the workouts in the right way. They made the sessions interesting and challenging too! Now we do the workout with passion to stay active. As senior citizens, we manage our daily routine independently now. Thank you Dr.Apporva, Dr.Prerana and Dr. David. Hope many people receive your services for the betterment of their health. 🙏🙏Happy New Year🌹 2021.☺️

A friend introduced me to Resolve 360 so that I could treat a ligament injury that was hindering my day to day activities. It was a bad phase! This platform is not only a venture but a baby to Ms. Apoorva Shrivastava. With a lot of love, care and experience she brings together some of the best people in the industry to help with physical therapy and other treatments. She chose Ms Prayerna Bhattarai as my therapist and since then i started recovering faster with a well-thought out and personalized plan. My strength is coming back steadily and now i am planning to do a complete fitness routine with them so that such injury never happens in the future! I highly recommend that everyone should connect with Resolve 360!

I had online Physiotherpy sessions by Prerana for my heel pain. ( Tendo Achilis Sprain).
Though virtual, it was more interactive.

She was very observant throughout the sessions, correcting me while doing the exercises and was assertive in her outlook.

I found her instructions and methodology very helpful. She is updated in her academic knowledge in the field of Physiotherpy. She clarified my doubts about the role of Laser and Ultrasound treatment quoting evidence based data. With my personal experience I agree with her opinion that these are more of placebo effect.

Physiotherpy though not a miracle treatment, is a compelling necessity to most of the musculoskeletal and neurological illnesses. It needs to be accepted as healthy way to live.

Rehab for Heel Pain

From being a couch potato with poor cardio respiratory system to reaching pre-athlete levels of fitness in a span of 3 months, my journey with Resolve360 and Dr.David (Physiotherapist) has been anything but magical!

About 3 to 4 months ago, my blood report showed very high bad cholesterol levels, I was low on stamina and had frequent breathing issues. My GP prescribed me cholesterol meds for a month but I felt that alone wouldn’t get me back in shape because I needed a major lifestyle overhaul.

Dr.David educated me about my condition in detail and where it could lead me to if I don’t take action in the long run. He put me on a balanced workout regime being easy with cardio workouts in the initial days and gradually upgraded it observing me closely. He also advises me on dietary choices and follows up frequently. During the initial days, my ears used to get blocked within 5 wall squats and I stop right away but now I do over 20 in one shot and hardly feel a thing. I used to lose balance and fall off over my face within 6 push-ups or 20 seconds of plank and now I do about 24 push-ups in one shot. My heart rate used to raise above 150 bpm doing jumping jacks or other cardio workout within 20-30 seconds. You won’t believe I don’t do any of these cardio workouts without additional weights on my feet these days and my heart rate and recovery are as steady as they could get. I couldn’t run for over 2 min without stopping and gasping and now I cover about 4.6 km in 30 min and follow-up with a 20 min walk. Not convinced yet? My VO2 Max (I use an Apple Watch to measure this stat) was just about 33 while I started with Resolve360 and David. That reflects a very poor cardio respiratory fitness for a 34 year old. It’s 43.5 today ! Easily above average. Please read upon about VO2 Max and how it directly relates to cardio respiratory fitness so you get an accurate picture about my monumental progress in the last 3 months. I’ve been trying to get into a regular physical workout and balanced diet discipline since my 20s but I’d never been so motivated as I’m now. Give these guys a try. After all, the best investment you could ever make is on your health !
